The Contest: The contest is a weekly random drawing, over four (4) weeks, from among valid entries submitted on-line. This is an internet only contest.
Entry: Valid entries can only be submitted electronically at wktv.com at any time in the contest week, from Monday at 8:00AM until Friday at 11:59:59AM. Contestants must read the text of stories posted at wktv.com. Embedded in the text of one story will be a “codeword” or “code phrase”. The “codeword” or “code phrase” will be colored blue, highlighted by a yellow box and, when clicked on, will bring the contestant to the WORD SEARCH CONTEST entry form. Contestants must fill out the entry form and electronically submit it. Only fully filled out entry forms will constitute a valid entry. All valid entries for a contest week will be gathered electronically and at noon on Friday of the contest week, a winner, from the valid entries, will be selected at random using the electronic selection method employed by the “U Pick Em” contest service. The winner will be announced during the NewsChannel 2 Live @ Five NewsHour the day it has been selected.
Deadline:
Week #1 – Monday, October 4, 2010 at 8:00AM until Friday, October 8, 2010 at 11:59:59AM.
Week #2 – Monday, October 11, 2010 at 8:00AM until Friday, October 15, 2010 at 11:59:59AM.
Week #3 – Monday, October 18, 2010 at 8:00AM until Friday, October 22, 2010 at 11:59:59AM.
Week #4 – Monday, October 25, 2010 at 8:00AM until Friday, October 29, 2010 at 11:59:59AM.
Prize: Only one (1) prize will be awarded weekly. The prize is a $100 gift certificate redeemable at any store in the New Hartford Shopping Center.
Eligibility: Contestants must be legal U.S. residents, 18 years or older and possess a valid driver license.
Conditions: No purchase necessary.
Only one (1) prize per family and/or household over the course of this contest.
Winners must claim their prize, in person, at the station, 5936 Smith Hill Road, Deerfield, NY, during regular business hours (9:00AM – 4:30PM) Monday through Friday.
Photo identification is required to claim prize.
Failure to claim prize with in thirty (30) days of notification will result in forfeiture of prize.
Prizes are non-transferable. No substitutions are permitted.
Redemption of prize is subject to any restrictions, and or conditions established by participating vendors.
Winner is responsible for any and all federal, state and local taxes in conjunction with acceptance of any prize.
Winner is responsible for any costs related to the acceptance of the prize.
By participating in the contest, the winner agrees to allow their name, voice or likeness used in any advertising, promotion or broadcasting material relating to this contest, without additional financial or other compensation, and to sign a publicity release prior to acceptance of any prize.
WKTV reserves the right to impose an additional age limit.
WKTV may not be held responsible for any technical or mail difficulties that results in a failure in the delivery of an eligible entry, printing or typographical errors in any contest related materials or for eligible entries lost due to computer failure.
WKTV, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process, the operation of the WKTV Web Site or who is otherwise in violation of the rules. The station further reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify the contest if it is not capable of completion as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention or technical failures of any sort.
Employees of WKTV and Smith Media License Holding, LLC and their immediate family members are not eligible to win.
Void where prohibited.
WKTV reserves the right to supplement or change contest rules at any time.
The resale or auction of WKTV prizes will result in disqualification for all future WKTV contests.
All decisions of the WKTV contest coordinator are final.
